During performances of Newsies, Griffin was the Board operator. He worked with the lighting designer during tech as an assistant and designed the first few scenes and the opening number himself. He worked to assemble and paint the set, the main projects being the enwspaper stack boxes and the brick walls, the cobblestone door and lamppost platform, and the Santa Fe / Propaganda painting. Additionally, a few fixtures were added to the school's rep plot and he installed and patched those fixtures.

Looking for an opportunity to explore his artistic understanding, Griffin found himself on stage as Matthew Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables, his first time trying acting. It was a daunting task to take on a lead, but a great exercise to expand his knowledge of theatre and see the process from another perspective. From being stoic, to playful, to sweethearted, to crippling from a heart attack he enjoyed every moment of learning something new

Griffin was the light board operator for Matilda during the production but also assisted in the building and the painting of the set, largely the letter blocks and the letter flats. He also troubleshot and fixed the folding book platform (USL). It was three flats in one, that folded like a book (thus the name) however the hinge and screws weren't allowing it to open fully so Griffin was handed the project by the TD.
